Dan Pope, 73 of Columbus, MS passed peacefully at his residence surrounded by loved one.  Dan was born March 27, 1950 to Edward Pope Sr. and Willie Moore People of Columbus, MS.

Dan spent his life working various jobs gathering experience that he freely shared.  All that knew Dan treasured their relationships with him.  Dan's unique life led him to travel the world.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frankie Pope; one daughter Cassidy Pope; four sisters:  Mary, Martha, Ethel Lou, and Carrie Mae; six brothers:  John, Willie C., Edward Jr., Sammie Lee, Frank, and Howard.

Dan is survived by one daughter, Ree Pope of Winter Haven, FL; one son, Steveon Fountain of Winter Haven, FL; five sisters, Minnie, Bessie, Gerri (Henry), Rubbie (Richard) and Lucilla of Chicago, IL; one brother, Rufus; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends whom he loved dearly.
