Donald "Don" Bluitt, affectionately known as "Duck" age 58, was born on June 29, 1967, in Columbus, Mississippi, to the late Gentle Lee Bluitt, Sr. and Fannie Magnolia Petty Bluitt. He peacefully transitioned on Sunday, January 4, 2026, while doing what he loved most—helping others.
Don was a man known for his warm spirit, kind heart, and willingness to help others. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand, often assisting neighbors with minor repairs and projects, sharing his skills as a licensed electrician and general handyman. A proud military veteran, Don lived a life of service both to his country and to his community.

He attended Columbus School District and graduated from Caldwell High School in 1985. Don had a deep love for grilling and was well known as the grill master of the family. Cooking for his loved ones brought him great joy, and his meals were always seasoned with love. In his leisure time, he proudly supported his favorite teams, cheering faithfully for the San Francisco 49ers and the Atlanta Braves.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tom Bluitt and Gentle Lee Bluitt, Jr.; and one sister, Sallie Mae Bluitt Lavender.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory two daughters, Kiera Gregory of Atlanta, GA and Renee Misaalefua one grandson, Troy Misaalefua; siblings, Willie Pearl Bluitt of Columbus, MS, Jerry (Linda) Bluitt of West Point, MS, Kenneth Bluitt of Columbus, MS, Perry (Angelia) Bluitt of Columbus, MS, and Anthony Bluitt of Columbus, MS; and one brother-in-law, Johnnie Lavender of Memphis, TN.

Don will be remembered for his generosity, his steady presence, his love for family, and the legacy of service and kindness he leaves behind.
