Dorthy Jean McBride Jones, age 68, of Columbus, MS, departed this life on March 27. 2025. Born on March 20, 1957, she was the cherished daughter of Robert Lee Clay and Ollie Louise Clay.

Dorothy dedicated years to serving as a bus monitor for the Columbus Municipal School District, where her caring nature and hardworking spirit left a lasting impact on the children she served. She was previously employed with Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT in various departments. Dorothy was a member of Providence M.B. Church where she sang in the mass choir.  She also attended Stephen Chapel M.B. Church.

In addition to her commitment to family and work, Dorothy had a passion for shopping, florals, and design. Her creative talents flourished in every aspect of her life, and she took great joy in making her surroundings beautiful.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Louise Clay and Robert Lee Clay.

Dorothy was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose love for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds. She is survived by her sons, Quatres (Racquel) McBride, Terrance McBride, Romiko ((Erica) McBride, and Dustin (Churna) Jones; her daughters, Naomi McBride, Christina (Derico) McBride-Howard, Bianca Jones, and Aisha Jones; her beloved siblings, Barbara (Charles) Lowery, Eugene (Vicki) Clay, and Robert (Debbie)  Clay; 24 Grandchildren; 5 great- grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dorothy's kindness and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace, Dorothy. Your love and light will forever remain in our hearts.
