Eddie Lee Gandy was born in Columbus, MS to the late Joe Lee and Peggy Patmon Gandy.

He grew up in Columbus, MS in the Sandfield Community. He went to Job Corp and received his G.E.D. He then moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a number of years where he began his work career in construction as a welder. After 40 years, he returned to Columbus where he reconnected with his family and friends. Eddie Lee was known to many as "Fat" or "Old Skool."

Eddie Lee departed this life on June 23, 2021 in Columbus, MS.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Elizabeth "Maxine" Gandy, Bobbie Ann Gandy, Annie Ruth Gandy, Mary Jean Gandy, and Joe Gandy, Jr.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memories: his sons and daughters, Salina T. Baaith and Crystal Davis; his grandchildren, Laniah Smith, Laila Smith, and Chasity Gandy; his siblings, Larry Gandy, Will Gardner, Freddie Gandy, Terry Gandy, Brenda Petty, Jackie Watson, Lillie B. Gandy, and Willie B. Gandy; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
