Eddie Lee Porter, Sr., affectionately known as "Spook," departed this life on April 10, 2026, at his residence. He was born on December 11, 1948, in Columbus, MS, to the late Elsie and Charlie Lee Porter, Sr.

Spook was a devoted father, cherished grandfather, beloved brother, uncle, and a loyal friend. For 40 years, he dedicated his skills and time as a mechanic and driver at APAC, where he worked diligently until his well-deserved retirement.

At an early age, Spook confessed his faith in Christ and became a faithful member of Providence M.B. Church, where he worshipped and found spiritual solace. He had a deep love for fishing and, above all, cherished his family, finding immense joy in their company.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Daisy Porter; his parents, Elsie and Charlie Lee Porter, Sr.; his sisters, Gloria Mae Evans, Lillie Evan, and Juliet Porter; his brother, Charlie Porter, Jr.; his daughter, Dorothy Henry; and two grandchildren, David Porter and Deionndra Pruitt.

Spook leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to his devoted children: Marie (James) Overstreet, Eddie L. (Tasha) Porter, Jr., Charlie David (Kimberly H.) Porter, Vickie (Frank) Harris, Sonia (Joseph) Ellis, Brodreick (Nicole) Porter, and Yolanda (John) Windham, all residing in Columbus, MS. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Eddie Lee "Spook" Porter, Sr. will be remembered for his steadfast love for his family, his strong work ethic, and his kind spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
