On Monday, March 4, 2024, Ella Mae Johnson left behind her love and kindness that touched the lives of many.

Ella loved to cook and feed anyone, work in her garden planting vegetables to cook and give away.  She also worked several other jobs throughout her life.

Ella was born November 10, 1932 to Wayne Durrah and Polly Mae Durrah.  She was married to Roosevelt Johnson, Sr. and became a member of Church of Christ until her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Johnson, Sr.; her parents; four children, Samuel Earl Johnson, Michael Johnson, Irene Johnson and Roosevelt Johnson, Jr.; her siblings, Johnny W. Durrah, Tom P. Durrah, W.D. Durrah, and Nellie Durrah White.

Ella leaves to cherish her memories:  her children, Darlene (Ellis) Poole of St. Louis, MO, Willie Mack (Shirlean) Johnson, Wiley Johnson, Marshell Lampley and Frank (Henrietta) Johnson all of Columbus, MS; daughter-in-law, Priscilla Johnson; 25 grandchildren; and a host of great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
