Emitra Ann
"Mejan" Humphries
September 10, 1975 – February 2, 2026
Emitra Ann Humphries, affectionately known to all as MeJan, who was born on September 10, 1975, in Columbus, MS, to the late Willie Lee Scott, Jr. and Clara Jean (Calmes) Rice, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and cherished memories.
MeJan was a proud graduate of West Lowndes High School, class of 1994, where she forged lasting friendships and brightened the halls with her vibrant spirit. Throughout her professional life, she dedicated her talents to various companies, including Carl Hogan Toyota, Car Lock Toyota, American Power Source, and Mississippi Title Loan, where her strong work ethic and friendly demeanor were always appreciated.
MeJan was a woman of profound faith who confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her belief was the foundation of her life, offering her comfort, strength, and peace. Through every challenge and joy, her faith remained a steady light that influenced the way she lived and loved others.
MeJan's heart was truly overflowing with love for her family. Her greatest joy and the apple of her eye was her cherished grandchild, Krislynn Bridges, affectionately known as SugarPoo. She absolutely loved family gatherings, finding immense happiness in the laughter and camaraderie shared with her loved ones. MeJan was also known for her vibrant and infectious spirit, often found dancing, listening to her favorite music, and bringing smiles to faces during spirited karaoke sessions. Her warmth and ability to light up a room will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her beloved children, Abril Humphries (Taveres Bridges) of Houston, TX, and Kristopher Humphries of Columbus, MS; her adored grandchild, Krislynn Bridges; and her grand dog, Dior. MeJan's memory will also be held dear by her loving siblings, Stephanie Scott, Jerome Humphries, Jamar Rice, Kevin Tate, Deforrest Jackson, and Willie Scott, III; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who were blessed to share in her life.
Though her physical presence is no longer with us, the echoes of her laughter, the warmth of her love, and the joy she brought to so many lives will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. MeJan will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on as a beautiful testament to a life well-lived and deeply loved.
