Obituary

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.

Proverbs 31:10

Fannie Lou Harris was born April 6, 1940, in Lowndes County Mississippi in the Motley community to the late Sterling Webber, Sr. and the late Jennie Rebecca Webber. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Motley. She later joined United Christian Baptist Church where she was a faithful member.

Fannie graduated from R.E. Hunt High and later was employed at United Technologies for several years until the plant's closing. She was loving, caring, and possessed all the attributes of a virtuous woman.  Fannie led her home with integrity, love, and discipline, aimed at making her family's life better, teaching her children, and serving God. As a member of United Christian Baptist Church, she looked forward to hearing the Word delivered by her Pastor and listening to the choir sing songs of Zion. Fannie delighted in working in the yard tending her flowers, visiting with neighbors in her community, attending exercise classes, and completing cross word puzzles in her quiet time.

Fannie was united in holy matrimony to Andrew C. Harris, Sr.  on September 16, 1961, for fifty-seven years. To this union five children were born.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, 4 brothers: Wright, Edward, Joe Lewis, and Sterling, Jr.; 6 sisters: Lula, Baby M., Rebecca, Magnolia, Bessie, and Annie; great-grandson: Antavis, and a daughter-n-law: Shirley.
