Deacon Flozell Lockett entered this world on January 27, 1957 in Shuqualak, MS to Curtis, Sr. and Mary Louise Lockett. He confessed Christ as his personal savior at the family church, Ivy Grove M.B. Church in Shuqualak, MS. Flozell later joined Calvary Baptist in Church in Columbus, MS and most recently he was member of Providence M.B. Church in Cooksville, MS serving as a deacon at both locations.

Flozell attended schools in Noxubee County, MS. He graduated from B.F. Liddell High School in 1976. He began his employment with Sanderson Plumbing. His workforce career continued to Weyerhauser/ International Paper serving as a crane operator for 33 years until retirement.

Flozell, known as "Sunny", was a caring husband, father, brother, and friend. He was an advent fisherman, motorcyclist, and loved auto mechanic tinkering. He was a member of the Weekend Riders Motorcycle Club of Memphis, TN. He was joined in matrimony to Helen Johnson for 14 years, and to this union was birth 2 daughters, Latoya and Kala. He later met Sophfornia Lockett and shared a union of wonderful 21 years which includes bonus children and grandchildren.
Flozell departed this life on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Flozell's memories will forever be cherished by: his wife, Sophfornia Lockett of Columbus, MS; daughters, Latoya Lockett of Columbus, MS and Kala Lockett of McDonough, GA; bonus children, Sharonda Jenkins of Oklahoma City, Ok and Antais Degraffenreid, Sr. of Columbus, MS; bonus grandchildren, KiKi Jenkins, Deandre Jenkins, Antais Degraffenreid, Jr., Emanuel Degraffenreid, and  Landon Bivins; siblings: Nettie (Willie) Clemons of Jackson, MS, Berdie (Larry) McMuttry of Shreveport, LA, Eddie Rene (James) Clark and Willie Lou Moore both of Shuqualak, MS, and Curtis (Shirley) Lockett, Jr. of Rockford, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
