On May 23, 2025 at 3:34 p.m., the heavenly angel came and called our loved one home.

Fred L Sledge was born on May 22, 1962 to the late Willie Sledge, Sr. and Mary Deloise Jernigan.

He was preceded in death by his oldest brother Willie Sledge, Jr. Fred confessed his belief in Christ at an early age and join Mount Carmel M.B. Church.

He graduated from Noxubee County High School Class of 1982 and was employed with the Noxubee County School District as a bus driver and janitor for several years.

Fred leaves to cherish his memories a niece who he thought of as a daughter, Delois Sledge (James) Scales of Macon, MS, sister, Joann (David) Brandon of Macon, MS; two brothers, Tommie Sledge of Columbus, MS and Henry (Flora) Sledge of Macon, MS; two aunts, Eva Kate Smith and Minnie Macon both of Macon, MS; sister-in-law, Hattie Sledge of Macon, MS; his best friend/brother, Jimmy Mason; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
