Obituary

Gary Everett Ross was born January 15, 1969, in Columbus, MS, to the late Reverend James Ross, Sr., and the late Annie Ross Bell.

Gary confessed Christ at an early age at Midway M.B. Church.  He later joined United Christian M. B. Church and Shiloh FGMB Church where he attended faithfully until his health began to fail.

Gary was a member of the Male Choir and the Brotherhood at United Christian, and he participated in the Men's Ministry at Shiloh.

Gary was a Lakers fan but more so, he was a Kobe Bryant fan. He loved the Black Mamba!  One of the most exciting days of his life was when he saw Kobe playing with the Lakers in Memphis.

Gary loved putting on clothes and loved shopping. He was often so clean and so cool, that he earned the nickname "Cool Breeze".

Gary was a self-proclaimed DJ. He played the music for all the family parties.  Sometimes he danced more than he played music.

What Gary loved more than anything else was pimping his bikes.  His bikes had TVs, radios,  speakers, extra seats—whatever he imagined, he created!

Gary never read instructions, but he could fix anything and could put everything together.
Gary was educated in the Columbus Public School System. Gary was employed with Pizza Hut for several years.  After Pizza Hut closed, he began working at Food Giant. Gary loved his job, his coworkers, and the customers dearly.

Gary loved people in general. He would crack a joke with you.  He did not care if nobody understood the joke but him.  Gary would preach to you, pray with you, tell you when you were wrong, but he would also praise you when you did something good.  But if you were talking to him and he didn't want to be bothered or if he didn't agree with what you were saying, he would simply say, "I hear you."  Everyone knew to just "let 'lone."  Gary loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Ross Temple.

Gary's memories will be cherished by:  his siblings, Eddie C. Scott, Laurae Ross (Jimmie) Gunter, James Ross, Jr., Earnest (Norma) Ross, Danny Ross and Catina Ross. Gary leaves a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many people who loved him.
