Gerald Blunt, born on January 18, 1972, in Columbus, MS, to Alexander and Betty Blunt, passed away on September 26, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. A proud graduate of Caldwell High School, Class of 1990, Gerald excelled in basketball as a point guard, showcasing his talent and passion for the sport. His love for basketball continued as he played with the Mississippi Flyers, where he not only enjoyed the game but also formed lasting friendships. He also served as a voluntary youth coach with Victory Christian JV Boys Basketball Team.

After high school, Gerald pursued higher education at East Mississippi Community College and later completed his associate's degree in business administration in 1995 from Meridian Community College. His dedication to learning and personal growth was evident throughout his life.

Gerald's professional journey was marked by his commitment and hard work. He held various positions at American Non-Woven, Initial Staffing (Mercedes Benz), Mitsubishi, Globe Manufacturing, Hydro-Vac Industrial Services, Tronox, Kior, and Sterling Chemicals. His entrepreneurial spirit, nurtured from a young age, led him to explore opportunities in the real estate industry, further showcasing his ambition and drive.

In his leisure time, Gerald enjoyed playing tennis, golfing, and spending time in the yard, as well as continuing to play basketball. His zest for life and love for family and friends were evident in everything he did. The values of love and nurturing were instilled in him from a young age, and he carried these principles into his own family life.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Betty R. Blunt, as well as his grandparents, uncles, and aunt.

Family was the heart of Gerald's life. He was a loving husband to Michelle Blunt for 29 years and a devoted father to his daughters, Kennedi and Kelli. Gerald also cherished his relationships with his siblings, Bettina Blunt, Earl Blunt, and Sergeant First Class Anthony D. Blunt, USA (Retired), and Sergeant Latasha E. Blunt, USA (Retired). He held a special bond with his mother-in-law, Deborah Clay, and father-in-law, Cedric Seals, as well as a loving family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
