Henry Lee Thomas was born July 6, 1954 in Lowndes County, MS.  He was the last son of twelve children (nine sons and three daughters) born to the late Christopher Columbus Thomas and Carrie Jennings-Thomas. He confessed his belief in Christ at an early age and continued to live a Christian life.  He departed this life October 18, 2024.

Henry L. Thomas married Lena Buchanan and to this union one child was born: one daughter, Mildred "Elaine" Wright of Tampa, FL (Harvard). He was a devoted Automotive Technician, full of life, and he never met a stranger. He loved his family and was a proud grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mildred Cohen, Mary Poindexter and Jimmie Thomas; five brothers, J.D. Thomas, Walter C. Thomas, Reverend Carzell Thomas, Sr., Eddie D. Thomas, Sammie Thomas.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 47 years, Lena and his only child, Elaine Wright (Harvard); his two grandchildren, Melanie and Mekhi Wright; his three brothers, Albert Thomas, Gus Thomas and William Ben (Ellyce) Thomas; and brother and sister-in-laws; Eugene, Sam (Debra), Andrew (Barbara), Rosie (Carl), Johnny, Jessie (Tamara), James (Michelle), Callie, Mary, Frances; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
