Ira
Webb
March 5, 1955 – April 6, 2026
Ira Dell Webb, affectionately known as “Bruh,” departed this life on April 6, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT. He was born on March 5, 1955, in Columbus, Mississippi, to the late Isabella and Joe Webb, Sr. His life was a testament to dedication, humility, and deep devotion to family.
A proud graduate of Motley High School, Ira built a life rooted in hard work and service. He began his career at Mitchell Machinery, later serving as a maintenance man at Magnolia Tennis Court. For 30 faithful years, he worked at Sanderson Plumbing until his well-earned retirement. Known for his steady hands and generous spirit, Ira was a gifted handyman—fondly called “the Fixer-upper” by those who knew him best. Whether it was a small repair or a larger task, he was always willing to lend his skills to help others.
Above all, Ira was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. A true homebody, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures—fishing, watching television, and, most importantly, spending cherished time with his family. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and seven siblings: Bobbie Webb, Billie Webb, John Robert Webb, Joe Webb, Jr., Joyce Webb, Patricia Webb, and Kate Frances Webb.
Ira leaves to treasure his memory his devoted wife, Betty Webb of Columbus, Mississippi; his children, Pamela (Dovirs) Williams and Marilyn (Corino) Vaughn, both of Columbus, Mississippi, and Dawan Nance of Hoover, Alabama. He is also lovingly remembered by his two sisters, Della Thomas and Helen Webb, both of Columbus, Mississippi.
His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Devarsionta (Joniqua) Williams, Shakevionta Williams, Keylan Payne, and DeAireal Williams; and his great-grandchildren: Kyng Murray, Chase Williams, Royal Murray, and Messiah Murray. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
Ira Dell “Bruh” Webb will be remembered for his quiet strength, dependable nature, and unwavering love for his family. His life reminds us that true greatness is found in faithfulness, kindness, and the simple acts of care that bind us together. His spirit lives on in every life he touched.
