Jewlean Lewis was born in Columbus, MS on August 11, 1949. She attended schools and completed high school education at R.E. Hunt High School in 1967. After high school, she began her employment with various companies until later with United Technologies as a line operator.

Jewlean enjoyed singing, church, and baking. She also enjoyed decorating and ceramics.

Jewlean confessed Christianity at the age of 11 at Hopewell M.B. Church. She later joined Faith Christian M.B. Church where she served as Sunday School Secretary and Program Committee. Jewlean was a huge fan of the San Francisco 49ers.

Jewlean is preceded in death by: her parents: Osy and Gladis Lewis; her sisters-in law, Alice Marie Lewis and Annie Grace Lewis; one nephew, Sean Chambers; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by her siblings: Odell Lewis of Riverdale, GA, Annie Chambers of Caledonia, MS, Larry Lewis, Cleveland (Tina) Lewis, and Melvin (Bernice) Lewis all of Columbus, MS, and Marvin Lewis of Jackson, MS; two uncles: Robert (Katie) Jones of Corpus Christi, TX and Roy (Pearl) Jones of Columbus, MS; two aunts, Marie Henry and Mary Jones both of Columbus, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
