On May 1, 2024, God called John Coleman to receive his heavenly wings and come home to Glory.
John was born on November 13, 1964, to Mrs. Melissa Coleman Peoples and Mr. John Lane. He confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Charity Mission Full Gospel Baptist Church. He served as an armorbearer for Bishop Bobby L. McCarter, Sr. for several years and simultaneously on the security ministry. His professional background includes experience as a police officer, truck driver for Star Trucking company, Kerr-McGee, and Carter's Funeral Services.
He was united in holy matrimony to Connie Sherrod Coleman.
John was preceded in death by his son, Kelly Sharp; his brothers, Dewayne Lane and Dennis Ray Coleman; grandmothers, Annie L. Gray-Coleman and Sarah Harris Lane; grandfathers, Willie Coleman, and Virgil Lane; step-father, James Peoples.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Connie Sherrod Coleman, his mother, Melissa Coleman Peoples, his father, John (Willie) Lane, Four godchildren, Aquandria Harris, La'Qouri Williams, Kelsey Bolden, and Benjamin Coleman, and one god-grandchild, Braxton Harris. Five sisters, Aldine Lane and Glory Rosenthal of Kankakee, IL, Janet Douglas of Bradley, IL, Glenda (Donthra) Coleman-Young of Savannah, GA, Shannon Sparks, of West Point, MS, one brother, Virgil (Donna) Lane of Jackson, TN. Fourteen brothers and sisters in laws, Linda (Edward) Phillips, Pastor Patricia (Lynn) Pratt, Dorothy (Leonard) Ellis, James (Wanda) Sherrod, Ellis Brown, Shelia Sherrod, Calvin Sherrod, and Annie Coleman. Six aunts, Christine (Glover) Conner, Annie Mae (Will) Roger, Catherine (Bill) Harris, Lisa (Gabriel) Ross, Frances (Forrest) Malone, two Uncles, Henry Williams and Frank Gray, three great aunts, Catherine Fifer, Lillie Moore, Celia Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
