Kelvin Lamar
Pounds
April 16, 1977 – September 22, 2025
Kelvin Lamar Pounds was born in Columbus, MS on April 16, 1977, to Johnny and Eloise Pounds. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of the Tabernacle C.M.E. Church.
Kelvin departed this life on September 22, 2025, in Nevada. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Rev. Richard Butler and Jessie Tom Pounds; his grandmothers, Mattie Lucille Butler and Willie T. Pounds; his uncle, Willie Eugene Pounds, and his aunt, Jessie Will Pounds.
From a small child Kelvin had always said he would be a truck driver when he grew up, his dream came true at the age of 22. Although on the road, Kelvin grew close to other truckers and this was his road family. Each day they all checked in with each other and Kelvin never met a stranger. He was adopted into the trucker family and motorcycle family because he was always there anytime there was an event and they welcomed him with open arms.
Kelvin leaves to cherish his memories with his parents, Johnny & Eloise Pounds; his sister, Patricia (Poncho) Hill of Columbus, Georgia; his God-children, Vanity (Sedrick) Hodges, Asantee Dez Buckingham, and Elijah Rice; aunts, uncles, and a host of relatives and friends.
