Lerona was born September 5, 1970, to the late Johnny Jackson and Odell Harris (S.D. Harris), in Macon, Mississippi.

Lerona confessed hope in Christ at an early age at Pleasant Ridge M.B. Church (Pleasant Ridge House of Worship) where she remained a faithful member until her sunset (July 5, 2025). She enthusiastically served as Amour Bearer, Deaconess, Usher and on the Praise & Worship Ministry. She was a 1989 graduate of Motley High School.

Lerona was employed for many years at Seminole, Microtek, Yokohama and most recently at ABB (Baldor Electric). She was a loving and caring family-oriented woman of faith. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, visiting the sick, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Although Lerona had no biological children, she had plenty that she loved as her own. Her many nieces and nephews were her heart, especially Trey and baby girl, Shamaya; and all of Lerona's first cousins were like bonus sisters and brothers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Jackson; her grandmothers, Bessie Earl Williams and Esther Harris; her grandfathers, William Terry and Mason Harris; her aunts, Earnestine Sanders, Geraldine Sanders, and Eunice Harris; her uncles, Flozell Mitchell and Rev. James Earl Harris.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving mother, Odell Harris and step-father, S.D. Harris of Columbus, MS;  her brothers, Randy (Michelle) Harris, Anthony Cardell Harris of Fisher, IN, Johnny Harris, Vondell Harris, Andron (Kasondra) Harris, Lonzell (Chekita) Harris all of Columbus, MS; her sisters, Myrtle Anthony Tucker, Maxine (James) Long, Angelia Harris, Youshika Jackson all of Columbus, MS, Felisha Jones of Lawrenceville, GA and Erika Jackson of Loganville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends that absolutely adored he
