Lucy Washington Cole was born on July 7, 1952, in Columbus, Mississippi to Martha Ann Washington and Willie James Washington. From an early age, Lucy discovered Christ and carried her faith with her throughout her life.

Her life was filled with faith, creativity and joy. She found joy in simple things like- being in the kitchen cooking meals for those she loved, getting lost in a good book, dancing to her favorite music and sharing moments that brought laughter and warmth to her home, passions that reflected her warm vibrant spirit.

She was a proud mother of four children, whom she loved deeply. She worked many years as a bakery manger she also worked as a seamstress. Through her work, faith and love for her family, she touched many lives.

She is preceded in death by her father Willie James Washington; mother Martha Ann Washington; brother Freddie Washington, and brother Wille James Washington Jr.

Lucy is survived by her children, Stanley (Mattie) Washington, Vyngie (Stephanie) Washington, Myisha (Thomas) White and Johnathan Cole; her grandchildren, Dontrell Jackson, Jazzmyn Washington, Antonio Washington, Brittney Collins, Kayla Cole, Johnathan Cole, Jr. Zamarion White, Danika Cole, Julia Cole and Royal Cole; her siblings, Jerrie Washington, Joanne Washington, Willie Lee Washington, R. L. Washington, Johnny Washington, Henry Lee Washington and Clarence Washington; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
