Vanessa "Net" Walls passed away on March 23, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by family, as she entered eternal rest. She was born on January 28, 1960, in Cliftonville, Mississippi to Leodell Walls-O'Neal and the late Willie Staples. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and a friend to many.
Net expressed her belief in Christ early in life. Before her health failed, she was an active member of Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church. Net received her education in the Columbus School System and graduated from Caldwell High School. She also attended and graduated from Riley College. She was employed with various places of employment, such as: the Gilmer Inn, Seminole Manufacturing and her last place of employment was with the Trinity Nursing Facility as a Certified Nurse's Aide. Net loved life to the fullest, receiving every moment as a Blessing from God. She enjoyed being with her family and having fun.
Net is preceded in death by her parents; Leodell Walls-O'Neal and Willie Staples; her step-father, Cleveland O'Neal; brother, Larry Walls and sister, Mary Jean Walls-Atkins; uncle, Joe Stewart; aunts, Ollie Mae Murphy, Addie B. Reed, Sue Lee Reed, and Willie Mae Reed.
Those left to cherish precious memories are: her daughter, Latreis Walls and her son, Damian Walls both of Columbus, Mississippi; her siblings, Tommie James Walls of Texas, Valerie Denise Walls, Cleveland Walls and Angel Inez Walls all of Columbus, Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Tamekia Walls, Timothy Walls, Jermerio Walls, Damian Walls, Jr., Deashia Walls, Kendaly Brooks, and Mya Walls; four great-grandchildren, Da'Mari Walls, Jarvier Walls, Melanie Walls and Kingston Walls; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A dear and special friend, Scott Duckin.
