Marquis Deuntray Silvers was born in Macon, MS, on August 28, 1985 to Marcus and Mattie Silvers. Marquis confessed Christ and was baptized at Christian Hill M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Bobby Bowen.

As a child, he attended the Noxubee County schools and later graduated from Noxubee County High School in 2004. He grew up playing basketball with his family and swimming. He moved to San Antonio, TX and began his work career in industrial construction as an iron rigger. His last employment was with MEI Riggings working offshore as a Certified Crane Operator. He received his certification as a NCCER after training.

Marquis, known as "Slim", was dearly loved by his family and friends. His love of sports continued as a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Marquis transitioned on November 12, 2022 in Lake Charles, LA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Willie Buckhalter and Allie Jane Davis.

Marquis's memories will forever be cherished by: his parents: Marcus and Mattie Silvers, his grandfather, Charlie Buckhalter, grandmother, Sallie M. Buckhalter; his children, Marquis Deuntray Silvers, Jr., La'kelvius Katodrea Silvers, Daxton Tripp Silvers and Aliyah Denea Andrus; siblings, Tarmarcus Silvers, Marleka Horton, Wilnishia Buckhalter, Tiffany Buckhalter, Tracy Harris; and a host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.
