Min. Kayline Hamilton, Jr., a beloved minister, devoted family man, and passionate sports enthusiast, was born on March 2, 1979, in Aberdeen, Mississippi to the union of Kayline and Patricia Hamilton. He departed this life on July 14, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - GT, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and community service.
From an early age, Kayline demonstrated a deep commitment to his faith, confessing Christ at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. His spiritual journey led him to accept his calling to the ministry in 2010, culminating in his ordination in 2013. As a minister, he touched countless lives, offering guidance, support, and a listening ear to those in need. His passion for helping others was evident in every sermon he delivered and every interaction he had.
Kayline was not only a dedicated minister but also a hardworking individual who made his mark in various professions. He was employed as a truck driver with Royal Trucking, and previously worked with Swift Trucking, Assurant Wireless, and the fitness center and the commissary at Columbus Air Force Base. His work ethic and determination were admired by many, and he approached every job with the same dedication he showed in his ministry.
A true sports aficionado, Kayline had a profound love for basketball and was actively involved in coaching YMCA basketball. He was an ardent supporter of college sports, proudly cheering for his favorite teams, Notre Dame. His enthusiasm extended to the professional level, where he passionately followed the Houston Rockets in the NBA and the Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills in the NFL. His love for sports was not just about the games; it was about the camaraderie and joy they brought to his life and the lives of those around him.
He is preceded in death by: his grandparents: Willie J. and Christine Hamilton and Willie and Mary Riley and Betty Flood Riley; his brother, Kareem Hamilton.
Kayline is survived by his loving children, Destiny J. Richey of Meridian, MS, Diana Alvarez of San Antonio, TX, Joshua Hamilton of Columbus, MS, Jacob Hamilton of Columbus, MS, Kaylin C. Hamilton of Columbus, MS; his parents, Kayline, Sr. and Patricia Hamilton of Columbus, MS; his brother, Kevin (Sherlonza) Hamilton of Gulfport, MS; his sister-in-law, Angela Hamilton of Columbus, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
