Obituary

Mr. Odell Quinn was born on August 27, 1933, to the late A.D. Quinn, Sr. and Pattie Mae Addison Quinn. He departed this life on Thursday, April 27, 2023, in Eupora, Mississippi.

Odell Quinn grew up in the Tibbee community and was fondly called by his nickname "Biro." He moved to Chicago, Illinois where he continued his education. He was employed with Triangle Tanning Company where he worked as a leather tanner for many years until his retirement. In addition, he was known for his skills as an auto mechanic.

He confessed faith in Christ and was baptized. He was an active member at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois where he served as an Usher Board Member and performed other duties in the church. He returned home to the Tibbee community (West Point, MS) in 1994, he united with Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church where he faithfully served the church and community. He was a member of the church choir, a member of the Tibbee Development Club (TDC), and a trustee of both the church and Community Friendship Union (CFU).

He met his loving wife, Ruby Murry Quinn and they united in holy matrimony on December 26, 1952 and were joined together for 70 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents A.D. Quinn, Sr. and Pattie Mae Addison Quinn; two sons, Gerald Anthony Quinn and Odell Quinn, Jr.; his siblings, Willie "Pip" Quinn, Odessa Quinn Cherry, Leroy Quinn, Julia Quinn Jackson, A.D. Quinn, Jr., John Quinn, and Curlie Quinn; son-in-law, Adolphus Harris; two (2) grandchildren, Aundralae Harris; and great-grandchild, Kimarion Todd and Journi Kalise Price whom he called his "little angel".

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife Ruby Murry Quinn of West Point, MS; children, Betty Amos of Starkville, MS, Darise Jean (Robert) Jackson of Fredericksburg, VA, Levon Harris of West Point, MS, Linda (Victor) Patterson of Holly Springs, GA; his sister Elsie (Samuel) Yates of Bolingbrook, IL; twenty­ two (22) grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and all of his wonderful friends.

Odell Quinn will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.
