Obituary

Pearlie was born on June 7, 1937, to the loving union of George and Mary Gillespie in Prairie Point,
Mississippi. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of C.M.H.C. In later years, she joined
St. Mark Church of Holiness, where she served as Overseer and Sunday School superintendent.

After graduating from M & I High School in Macon, MS, Pearlie dedicated herself to service at Standard
Coleman and Mars Candy Company in Chicago, IL. She later relocated to Macon, MS, where she resided
until her home going.

Pearlie peacefully transitioned on July 18, 2024, at her home. Her life will always be cherished in our
memories.

Pearlie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Gillespie; her son, Fredrick Mosley; her
sisters, Bertha Bland, Louise Clark, and Annie Jones; and her brothers, Clinton, Grover, Lucious, Leonard, and
William Gillespie, as well as her grandson, Amir M. Mosley.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sherron Tate (Jessie) and Shonda Sledge (Sean); three sons, George
Smith (Margaret), Deondrea (Lorrender), and Anthony (Sarah); 16 grandchildren: Lattise (Gershun),
Chinetha, Eternity, Seandrea, Anthony Jr., Alexis, Cornelius (Karasha), Jamarior (Katrena), Lavada, Georgina
(Joshua), Margaret (Julius), Deondrea, Aaliyah, Derek, Tiffany, and Sharon; and 24 great-grandchildren. She
is also survived by her four brothers, George (Aretha), James (Rhonda), Edward (Patricia), and Julius (Lillian);
one sister, Verlie Sherrod; 2 honorary daughters, Lois and Brianna; and a host of other relatives.

While it is difficult to say farewell, we are thankful to God for the time we shared with her. Weeping may
endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
