Green-Scott
August 6, 1957 – April 20, 2024
Rhonda, the beloved daughter of T.C. and Arnetta Green began her journey on August 6, 1957, in Macon, MS.
She accepted Christ at the age of 13 and united with St. Paul M.B. Church where she assumed the responsibility and servitude as a dedicated member. Rhonda served as a Sunday School Teacher and Junior Mission Director. Later in her life, she joined United Christian Baptist Church in 1991 where she was a missionary, usher, and an Associate Minister.
Rhonda was educated and a 1975 graduate of the Noxubee County School System. She received a scholarship for basketball and enrolled at East Mississippi Community College. She continued her education at Alcorn State University graduating with a bachelor's degree in 1979. Rhonda began her career path as a kindergarten teacher at B.L. Moor Attendance Center and later became a Team Leader/Buyer for Weyerhaeuser in Columbus, MS where she retired after 30 years.
She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Eddie Lee Scott.
Rhonda accepted her call into the ministry at the age of 30. She attended Theological School in Starkville, MS where she earned her Doctorate Degree in Theology.
Dr. Rhonda L. Green-Scott embraced life and was an energetic, fun-loving, and sweet person. She loved her family, and her family loved her. She touched the lives of many with her sweet demeanor, beautiful smile, and personality. Rhonda had a zeal and a passion for God and souls according to Romans 10:1-2. Her greatest desire was to see everyone have a relationship with God.
She humbly bowed to the will of God and peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at her residence in Columbus, MS.
She is preceded in death by her father T.C. Green.
Left to cherish her wonderful, fond, loving memories are: her husband, Eddie Lee Scott of Columbus, MS; her mother, Arnetta Green of Columbus, MS; children, Latriece Stewart of Columbus, MS, Ricco Boles of Dallas, TX, Arlando Boles of Murfreesboro, TN, Bordrick Scott of Columbus, MS, Audreia Jennings of Warner Robbins, GA, Demetra Davis of Atlanta, GA, Nakeetsha Dryer of Huntsville, AL, Jovante Scott and Shannon Scott of Columbus, MS; her sister, Teresa Green-Hughes of Macon, MS. She also leaves twenty-two grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
