Robert "Ro"
Halbert
August 21, 1957 – February 15, 2024
Robert Halbert was born August 21, 1957 in Noxubee County to the late Jimmie Lee and Josephine Halbert.
He confessed Christ at an early age but reassured his faith in Christ later in life. He departed his life February 15, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Columbus, MS.
His love for karate overflowed into everyday life as he mentored to children in the neighborhood. He encouraged discipline, listening, and thinking among many other virtues. His smile and "never give-up" attitude made an impression upon many- a true testament of a fighter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gussie Lucille Halbert; father, Jimmie Lee Halbert; mother, Josephine Halbert; and brother, John Lee Halbert.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two sons, Tyrone Wilburn and Reggie Wilburn of Crawford, MS; a very special Godson, Gussie Lane Jr. of Brooksville, MS; two sisters, Lillie Halbert of Crawford, MS and Latita Dora of Brooksville, MS; four brothers, Donnie Halbert, Preston Halbert, Cottrell Halbert all of Crawford, MS; and Willie (Emma) Halbert of Macon, MS; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family.
