Obituary

Robert Lee Webber, Sr., born on June 9, 1939, to the parentage of the late William Murray Webber and Louvenia Odneal Webber, in Columbus, MS., departed this life at his home, on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Robert was raised on a farm and received his education at Motley Elementary School. He then moved to Clewiston, Fla, where he worked at the sugar mill, later moving to Peekskill, NY, where he worked for many years at Fleischman Company. Robert later moved back to his home of Columbus, MS, where he resided until his death.

Back in the day, you could spot him a mile away. His hair was laid; he had on his three-piece suit and always wore his Stacy Adam shoes. He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, rolling dice, cooking, and making people laugh. Robert could be seen all over the city of Columbus riding his bicycle, wherever he wanted to go. Life wasn't always easy for Robert, but he lived it in a way that suited him and didn't look for the approval of others. He walked a path that often felt solitary. But in his own way, he navigated it as best as he knew how.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, VeLisa Webber, of Raleigh, NC; one son, Rishaun Webber, of York, PA; three brothers, Jimmy Webber, Roger Webber, and Maurice Webber, all of Columbus, MS; four sisters: Sallie McCaskill, and Diana Webber, both of Peekskill, NY, Georgia Burns, and Vickie Richardson (Fred) both of Columbus, MS; nine grandchildren, Rashad, Justin, Đarian, Jocelyn, Destiny, Đesiree, PJ, Jaden, and Layah; sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his son, Robert Lee Webber, Jr.; one grandson, Robert Devon Webber; four sisters, Catherine
Webber, Lue Dell Webber, Susie Pratt, and Clara Anthony; and one brother, Frederick Webber.

May we remember him with kindness, love, and sweet memories knowing that every life touches this world in ways seen and unseen.
