Obituary

Our Beloved Sarah Lillie Stewart Bland, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September, 5, 2024, surrounded by family at home.

Sarah was born September 10, 1937 to Allen Stewart and Julia McClung in Prairie Point, MS.

Sarah accepted Christ as her savior at a very young age and was a member of Woodlawn CME Church. There she served as a church leader, a choir member, and an usher for many years.

She married the love of her life, Reodas Bland on December 25, 1952.  They shared 56 years of marriage and had 9 children.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She's the founder of the singing groups, The Bland Family and The Bland Cousins.  She traveled for more than 49 years, singing and lifting up the name of Jesus.

Proceeding her in death were her husband, Reodas Bland, sons, Grover Dale Bland, Reodas Bland Jr. and Melvin Bland.  two son-in-laws, Earl Hogan and Leon Payne

She leaves behind a legacy of love and her memories will be cherished by many.  Her one and only sister, Mattie B Jackson of Brooksville, Ms.  Six daughters, Julia B. Hogan, Caroline Payne, Linda Ivy, Kathleen (Hal) Bland, Thelma Rice, and Darleen (Eddie) Jones all of Macon, MS, and one special daughter Brenda (Richard) Neal, two nieces, Mildred (Ray) Joiner, Doris (Bobby) Battle, and two nephews, Von (Mary) Jackson, and Willie (Annie) Jackson

Twenty-one grandchildren, Sonya (Sharka) Corbin of Dover, Delaware, Kenisha Cox, Tenisha Adams, Sheameka (Rafael) White, Shetina Stewart, Samatha Jacobs of Dover, Delaware, DeAndra Bland, John Ivy, Naketta Bland, Jessica Bland, Alisha Hogan, Shaquita Ivy, Dequincyo Brewer, Brittany Clemons, Breyon (Dashia) Bland, Shaterrica (MaQualin) Moody, Harold (DeAmber) Bland, Jameshia Ivy, Leon Payne, Kadaisa Jones, and Rodreekas (Keyunna) Hogan.

Forty-seven great-grandchildren, Jakyle, Jailynn, Avian, Kelton, Kaley, Chloe, Amonte, Bryson, Anniyha, Carter, Cayden, Carlee, Kriisten, Rafael Jr, R'mariyon, Ralyn, Trinity, Jayden, Madison, Anna, DeAndra Jr. MaKenlie, Draden, Carter, Xavier, DaKari, Mayson, Paisley, K'den, Tristen, Parker, Brooklyn, Nylah, Noah, Cameron, Abigail, Lanasia, Kenneth Jr, Dennillia, Derwin, Maci, MaQualin Jr., Marlee, Aiden, Laila, Kali, Baby Khloe.
