Ms. Shannon Denise Sherrod was born November 13, 1978 in Macon, MS to Willie Coley and Linda Sherrod.  Shannon confessed hope in Christ and joined Mount Olive Church.  She later moved her membership to Greater Emmanual Temple COGIC where she remained a member until her transition.

Shannon was a "Jill of all trades".  Shannon worked various jobs throughout her life.  Her last job brought her so much joy.  Being a Pre-K teacher was very rewarding to her.  The love for "her babies" as she called them was one of the highlights of her day.

On Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS, the angels of silence with chilly fingers sealed the lips of Ms. Shannon Sherrod.

Shannon was preceded in death by her grandparents; her brother, Detrick Topps.

Shannon leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Linda Sherrod of Columbus, MS; father, Willie (Michelle) Coley of Huntsville, AL; Ex husband, Jyrone Hayden of Columbus, MS; two sons, Jayden Hayden and Teegan Hayden both of Columbus, MS; siblings, Ericka Sherrod of Kennesaw, GA, Kellye Sherrod, Jessica Young, Latora Young, Reyshawn Topps, Kameron Topps, Courtney Lee all of Columbus, MS, Tiffany McBride of St Louis, MO; one granddaughter, Ka'Moura Hayden of Columbus, MS; special friend, David Gandy of Starkville, MS.  She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
