Obituary

Mr. Shomorri Rashawn Mason was born to Thelma Mason and Foster Brooks on Thursday, July 22, 1993 in Starkville, MS. He was educated in Noxubee County School System as a member of the class of 2011. He also furthered his education at Finch-Henry Job Corps Center in Batesville, MS. He was employed by Noxubee Medical Complex where he worked in Dietary.

He confessed his hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Jack Vaughn at Mt. Carmel M.B. Church in Macon, MS. He served as a member of the usher board, youth choir, and the male choir.

Shomorri, affectionately known as "Mason Boy", brought light, and humor to every space that he entered. He liked playing video games, playing basketball during the summer, writing songs, and honing his craft in what he loved to do, which was singing. Mason was well known and loved around the Pineywoods Community.

He is preceded in death by his brother Tadrian Shaw;Grandparents Ezell & Edna Mason and Linda Brooks and Curtis Brooks; one uncle, Anthony "Big Hack" Brown and one aunt,Shemeka Brooks.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his mother, Thelma "Nikki" (Christopher) Shaw of Macon MS; Foster (Mary Ann) Brooks of Aliceville, AL; 2 siblings, Mia & Anthony Shaw both of Macon, MS; 4 aunts, Mary Foote of Chicago, Ill, Tonya (Reginald) Lewis of Macon, MS, Sonya Brooks & Terra Lowery of Lucas Hill, MS; 2 uncles, Stephen Brooks of Lucas Hill, MS & Lionell Barnett of Tuscaloosa, AL; Great uncles, Jimmie Mason of Macon, MS, Charles (Georgia B) Lowery of Brooksville, MS, Thomas Lowery of Jackson, MS & LinburgLowery of Macon, MS; Great aunts, Mary Edwards of Rockford, IL; Hattie Sledge & Mattie Mason of Macon, MS; Florence Harlins of Tuscaloosa, AL; Bessie Gavin of Indianapolis, IN, Bettye (Dwayne) Jackson of Crawford, MS;Special cousin/aunt Yolanda Smith of Macon, MS; Extended brother Jalan Ivy of Houston, Texas and friend, Chris Bonds and a host of cousins and friends.
