"Larry" Hawkins
April 18, 1958 – June 11, 2024
Song " Larry" Hawkins was born on April 18, 1958 to Orange Payne Sr. And Fannie Hawkins in Crawford, Mississippi.
Larry attended Motley High School and graduated in 1978.
Larry was a hard worker and was very charismatic about his superiors, coworkers, and all he came in contact with. He worked at Sanderson Plumbing for over 40 years. He later worked at Dutch Oil, where he was a dedicated employee until his health began to fail.
Larry was a member of Southside M. B. Church in Columbus, where he was affiliated with "Men on a Mission" and the male chorus. He was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Orange Payne, Sr. and Fannie Hawkins, and his siblings: Ida Amos, Joanne Cox, Orange Payne, Jr, Robert Payne, and Louise Poole.
On the morning of June 11, 2024, the sweet angels of Heaven embraced Larry into eternal peace.
He leaves to cherish his memories siblings Evelyn (Mitch) Gardner of Crawford, MS; Twila Hawkins of Cleveland, OH; Peggy Payne of Grand Rapids, MI; Betty Webb (Ira) of Columbus, MS; Robert Lee Harris of San Antonio, TX; Pearlie Nance of West Point, MS; Freddie (Doris) Payne of Columbus, MS; and Buster (Cynthia) Payne of Columbus, MS; step-children, Sheree Govan, Carlton Robinson, Donya Robinson, Carl Brooks, and Alvin Brooks; and seven step grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
