Spencer O'Neal Swanigan was born on April 14, 1972, in Columbus, MS to the late Dothie Jean Swanigan. He transitioned from this life on January 31, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle. Spence was a man of God, who possessed a deep love for family and friends.

Spence accepted Christ at an early age through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and later became a member of Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ both in Columbus, MS.

While here in life he worked at Columbus KIA Dealership and Griffin. Spence's dream of becoming a barber begin underneath the carport of 1623 23rd Street North, making that dream a reality after attending Gibson Barber School in West Point, MS. For a brief period, he worked at Try Me Barbershop and later opened his own Barbershop "Royal Cutz."

Spence is preceded in death by his mother, Dothie Jean Swanigan; grandmother, Corine Swanigan; auntie, Lillie Lou Swanigan; and nephew, Darius (Pee Wee) Cunningham.

Spence leaves to cherish his memories: of a loving wife of 25 years, Lukuise Swanigan of Columbus, MS, two sons, Keyshawn Swanigan and Jermarcus Swanigan of Columbus, MS; mother-in-law, Mary Trimble of Columbus, MS; father-in-law, Wardell Trimble of Hamilton, MS; three God-children, Daysha Williams, Zy'Brea Hughes, and Davasia Perry all of Columbus, MS; six siblings, Jackie Jefferson of Tupelo, MS, Joyce Swanigan, Annie Swanigan and Robert Swanigan all of Columbus MS, Jennifer (Anthony) Oliver of Panola, AL, Stevie (Denisha) Swanigan of Orlando, FL; sister-in-law, Demetrice (Chris) Brown of Pontotoc, MS; brother-in-law, Jaquez Perry of Hamilton, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
