Mother Susie A. Thompson was born on April 2, 1940, in Noxubee County, Mississippi and was the cherished only child of McCune Davis and Kellie Taylor Crouch. From a young age, she confessed Christ as her personal savior, a commitment that shaped her life and guided her actions. As a proud member of the United Faith Interdenominational Church, she found strength in her community, sharing her faith and love with all who crossed her path.

Susie moved to Columbus, Mississippi, where she became a beloved matriarch in her community. Known affectionately as "Mother Susie," she was a mother to many, nurturing and supporting those around her with an open heart. Her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, love, and cherished gatherings, where family and friends were always welcomed with warmth and kindness.

After dedicating 50 years of her life to the Columbus Municipal School District as a custodian, Susie retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and unwavering dedication. Her commitment to her job was matched only by her love for her community, where she was known for her generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand.

Mother Susie's life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, dedication. and  resilience. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will continue to inspire us to cherish our loved ones and embrace the joy of togetherness.

Mother Susie A. Thompson, who left this world on August 13, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.

Mother Susie Thompson is preceded in death her parents; her children, Johnny Thompson, Jimmy Alexander, Betty Price, Doris Kelley, Barbara Thompson and Deborah Thompson; her grandchildren, Tiffany Thompson, Brittney Thompson, Devin Thompson, Jimmie Alexander, Jr; and four great-grandchildren, Darius Thompson, Kingston Bradford, Antaves Petty Harris, Taniyah Bluitt.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her children, Susie M. Thompson, Will Thompson, Carol Harris, Jean Ann (Portis) Johnson, Kelly Thompson, Rita Thompson, Lonnell Thompson and Anthony Thompson; her precious dog, Bentley Thompson; 40 grandchildren; 94 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.  She also leaves  a host of other relatives and friends.
