Lowery
June 12, 1931 – April 12, 2025
Deacon T.C. Lowery was born June 12, 1931, to Arthur and Beatrice Lowery in Crawford, MS. He was raised in the Crawford community until relocating to the Sandfield Community where he made his home. He accepted Christ at an early age at Oakland M.B. Church. He was a dedicated and faithful member under the leadership of Rev. J.H. Cockrell and Rev. Joe Bowen. He would be ordained a deacon in 1982. Deacon T.C. Lowery moved his membership to Christ Deliverance Center under the leadership of Pastor Joe Eggleston. His commitment to faith and service continued as a deacon at Christ Deliverance.
T.C. Lowery, also known as "Sonny", was employed for many years with Airline Manufacturing in Columbus. He was an outstanding employee so much that even after retirement he was asked to still be apart of the company in some capacity. When not working and serving the Lord, you could find "Sonny" on the fishing banks or hunting which were his favorite hobbies. He was an original member of the MS Nightingale Quartet Group.
Deacon T.C. Lowery met his love, Bertha Lowery, and married in 1953 and their union was blessed with ten children.
Deacon T.C. Lowery departed this life on April 12 2025, at his residence surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Bertha Lowery; children: Dorothy Frierson, Tommy Lowery, Bernice Pope, and Ernest Lowery; and siblings, Georgia Hudson, Betty Farmer, Mollie Gray, Gertrude Haywood, Eddie White, A.W. Lowery, N.F. Lowery, B.L. Lowery, and D.L. Lowery.
Deacon T.C. Lowery is survived by: his children: D.L. (Betty) Lowery of Columbus, MS, Eddie (Idella) Lowery of Tupelo, MS, Maggie Sykes of Tuscaloosa, AL, Patricia Knight of Columbus, MS, Jerry (Tina) Lowery of Jackson, TN, and Frederick (Jewelean) Lowery of Columbus, MS; 37 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Clarence (Louise) Lowery of Chicago, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, nephews, other relatives and friends.
