Tommie Jame Abrams was born October 9, 1946, in Columbus, MS to Tom Abrams and Margie Gunter. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Union Baptist Church. Tommie began his employment with Airline Manufacturing until moving to Ft. Wayne, IN for several years. He would later return to Mississippi and employ with Bryan Foods. Tommie worked in the shipping department for 40 years until retirement.
Tommie loved sports, especially his favorite team, San Franciso 49ers. He also enjoyed his fellowship with family and friends. One of his favorite past times was riding from house to house to check on his family periodically. He often asked and was given sweet treats for stopping by. Barbecue on the grill was his specialty for family and friends as well.
Tommie transitioned to eternal rest on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital GT. He is preceded in death by: his parents; his sister, Teressa Courington; and his daughter, Tracy Abrams; his son-in-law, Kareem Hamilton.
Tommie's memories will forever be cherished by: his wife of 18 years, Linda Abrams; his children: Angela Abrams Hamilton, Tommy Reed, Gregory Abrams, Cyntana Reed, Jackie Abrams, and Roderick Skinner all of Columbus, MS, Jeffrey Skinner of Tupelo, MS, and Ashley Abrams of Birmingham, AL, Anitra Profiet of Los Angeles, CA, Marquette Profiet, Jermaine Profiet, and Raymond Profiet all of Columbus, MS; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his siblings: Doris Jones and Jimmie(Laurae)Gunter, Jr. all of Columbus, MS, James Williams of Dayton, OH, Ricky Stewart, Glenda Crusoe, and Pamela(Erick)Herron all of Columbus, MS, Don(Tangela)Harris of Starkville, MS and Lonnie Harris of Columbus, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
