Obituary

Valecia Ann Harris better known as "Lisa" was born on March 27, 1968 to the late Jimmie Perkins and Marie Davis. Although she was born in Detroit, MI, she called Columbus, MS her home.

She received her high school diploma from S.D. Lee High School in 1986.  Upon graduating, she traveled to Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville, MS where she received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Everyone who knew Lisa knew she loved children. Throughout her 35 years professional career, she pursued her passion for children extending that love to many children in the Columbus area where she was affectionately called "TeTe" Lisa.

She accepted Christ at an early age and later joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Therman Cunningham, Sr.

No words can quite sum up the impact she has made on so many lives. Her laughter, words of wisdom, sharp wit, and giving heart will be missed by many.

Preceding her in death are her paternal grandparents, John Henry and Lovie Perkins.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband of 28 years, John Harris; children, Kiara Sanders (Demarcus) and Kyle Harris (Marche), and the expected arrival of her granddaughter, Kali Gray Harris; her sisters, Kemberly English and Temicka Slyvertooth (D'Angelo), a special son, Timothy Stagget her grandmother, Sallie Gray and aunt, Mattie Brown; her glam baby, Kayleigh Harris, her beloved God-Father, Julius LaMaris Mays; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
