Vera Lee Winston, a beloved member of the Columbus community, passed away on March 23, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT. She was born on March 1, 1946, in Columbus, to her loving parents Vera Lee and Willie Mae Shelton.

Vera was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a warm and loving home for them. She married the love of her life, Albert Lee Winston and together they shared many years of joy and love.

In addition to her role as a homemaker, Vera was a cherished member of the First James Creek M.B. Church family. She found solace and strength in her faith, and her presence in the church brought comfort and inspiration to those around her.

Vera's kindness and generosity knew no bounds. She had a gentle spirit and a heart full of compassion, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her warm smile and caring nature touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Vera is preceded in death by her parents, her Husband, Albert Lee Winston; her brothers, Tommy R. Shelton, Matthew Shelton, David Shelton, Robert L. Shelton, and Willie J. Shelton.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her children, Tavaras Winston and Ruby Bradford both of Columbus, MS.; Her siblings, Willie Dean Sharp of Crawford, MS, Lucy Mae Jones and Chester Shelton both of Jackson, MS, Queen Ester Ramsey and Savannah Monroe both of Macon, MS, Shirley Gray and Vera Shelton, Jr both of Brooksville, MS; 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
