Willie Jean Hairston was born in Columbus, MS on September 28, 1956, to the parents of William Porter and Easter Mae Dillard Bateast. She was raised and lived her entire life in the city of Columbus.
She was employed as a cook with Sandfield One Stop and the Falcon Store. She was also a private sitter for the elderly. She was a member of the Shiloh Full Gospel M.B. Church.
Willie Jean, known as Jean, enjoyed watching television. Her favorite shows were westerns, soap operas, reading her bible, and play time as a school teacher.
Willie Jean departed this life on January 16, 2024 in Columbus, MS. She is preceded in death by: her parents; her sister, Vanessa Bateast; and her brother, David Dillard.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her fiancé, Eddie Presley of Columbus, MS; her sisters: Margaret Ellis and Susie Jordan both of Columbus, MS; her nieces and nephews whom she loved as children; and a host of other relatives and friends.
