Mother Willie Lou Harris entered this world in Crawford, MS on January 17, 1927, to the parents of Monzella and Nettie Ellis. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of Greater Mt. Olive M.B. Church. She was employed with Johnston Tombigbee Furniture Company for a number of years until retirement in 1997. Mother Harris was a neighborhood staple on 7th Avenue. You could always find her on her porch, often waving at passerby's. While inside her home, she enjoyed cooking in her kitchen. Throughout her 97 years of life, she left a special love on family and friends that crossed her path.

Mother Willie Lou Harris transitioned on December 4, 2024, at her residence.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Ed Harris; her children, Henry Lee Harris, John Harris, Ann Sykes, Johnnie Harris, Troy Harris, Eddie Harris, Linda Harris, and Gloria Edens; and one sister, Emily Gray.

Mother Willie Lou Harris's memories will forever be cherished by: her children, Willie C. Harris, Arter Harris, Gayle Harris all of Columbus, MS, and Michele (Emeric) Sturdivant of Killeen, TX; twenty-four grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
