Willie C. Porter was born in Columbus, Mississippi on August30,1951. His parents were the late Mrs. Annie Jane Porter and Mr. Albert Porter. He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He attended Moley School in Mississippi. After his school years, he moved to Michigan and was employed with General Motors as a production worker on the assembly line. Willie worked at GM for 28 years until his retirement.
Willie was loved by all who came in contact with him. He was always making people laugh with his storytelling and made up songs.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Bobby Jean Douglas.

He leaves to cherish his memories: sisters, Hattie Tate and Dorthy Lyons, both of Columbus, MS, Janice Sherrod of Bridgeport, CT; brothers, James Porter (Glennie) of Detroit, MI, and Jimmie Lyons of Columbus, MS; a son, Willie Tiant Porter of Detroit, MI; a daughter, Cecelia Womack (Clarence) of Detroit, MI; five grandchildren, Tiana Porter, Willie Porter, Rhianna Womack, Clarence Womack (of Texas), and Marcus Womack; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Willie departed his life on October 21, 2022, at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
